Septo-optic dysplasia

This generally sporadic anomaly comprises optic nerve hypoplasia and variable absence of the septum pellucidim (Fig. 1). It is commonly associated with pituitary and hypothalamic endocrine disturbances. The degree of visual and cognitive impairment varies (Williams et al. 1993).
